ABOUT US & GIVING BACK

 Meet Kat!

Kat is an illustrator, lover of the outdoors, and cat mom based in Saco, Maine. Her illustrations celebrate the places, both urban and wild, that bring us joy, peace, and comfort in New England.

Kat’s illustrations are inspired by New England's diverse landscapes and her experiences in the outdoors hiking, skiing, and biking. She began her illustration journey ten years ago in the White Mountains of New Hampshire when she first popped her head up above the treeline, heard the wind rustling through the scrubby pines and saw the incredible views. She was hooked. When an old injury flared up and kept her from hiking, she began drawing the mountains that had become her refuge.

Our products are now carried by 30+ locally owned shops in the region and her illustrations have made their way to thousands of homes across the country.

 Our Products & Packaging

We make every effort to source materials and choose production partners with care, taking into consideration production practices, quality of product, and location (all of our products are made in the USA). Where we don’t have the option to use recycled materials for our products we opt for high-quality papers and printing techniques to ensure that our products last, reducing waste.

All of our shipping materials are either made of recycled materials or reused from incoming shipments. Please recycle and reuse these whenever you can!

 Giving Back

While trying to be as sustainable as possible is important, we’ve recently decided to step up our environmental efforts and make a commitment to the natural world that we value so much.

Kat Maus Haus recently became a member of 1% for the Planet, a global network of thousands of businesses and environmental organizations across the world, all working toward a better future.

We donate 1% of our annual sales to non-profit organizations that are working to preserve and protect our planet.

Our donations go to organizations that are focusing their efforts in the New England region. Our 2025 sales supported the following certified non-profits:

The Nature Conservancy Maine

With a mission to protect the lands and waters on which all life depends, The Nature Conservancy in Maine is taking action to protect land and water, work toward a healthy and sustainable ocean, address and mitigate the effects of climate change, and connect people and nature, in Maine and around the world.

RESTORE: The North Woods

The mission of RESTORE: The North Woods is to create new national parks, save natural forests, and protect endangered wildlife. RESTORE is a non-profit membership organization founded in 1992 by veteran conservationists and grassroots activists. We are grassroots based, using advocacy, public education, and citizen activism to address the root causes of our ecological crisis — not just the symptoms.

Bicycle Coalition of Maine

The Bicycle Coalition of Maine works to make Maine a better and safer place to bike, walk, and roll. Founded in 1992, the Bicycle Coalition of Maine has grown into the leading bicycle and pedestrian advocacy group in the state. The Coalition believes all Mainers should have access to bikes and bike education, and we envision a future where Maine’s roads, public ways, and trails are safe and accessible, resulting in cleaner travel options, improved health, and stronger economic benefits for Maine communities.
